Happy Birthday My Love!

Wow! Our first baby is one year old. Last year today I took Nelly for a 45 minute walk through the deep snow. We just kept walking and walking as I was determined to induce my own labor. Once home I felt myself ridden with bad "cramps." Sure enough those cramps turned out to be a 7 cm. dilated mommy ready to have her first baby. We left for the hospital at 3:00 pm. and Aubrey was born by 11:29 p.m. I can't describe the emotion I feel right now. The events of a year ago will forever be sketched in my mind. I find myself reliving and remembering every hour up until her birth. I get very emotional thinking about her birth. Why can't these moments be frozen forever? I remember how excited and happy I was to have a brand new baby. As I reflect on today I can't help but be so excited for what the new year with her will bring. She has changed our life immensely for the good. So although I look on this anniversary of her birth with sadness of how fast life is flashing before my eyes I can't help but be filled with rejoice and thanks for this wonderful 7 lb. 15 ounce blessing that God has entrusted to us. Here is a message for my first little girl:

Dear Aubrey,
Mommy and daddy love you more than you will ever know. The last year of our life has been incredible to say the least. We can't wait to spend many more years with you discovering the world. You have changed the way we see things. You have shown us the meaning of unconditinal love. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful daughter. We are SO LUCKY to be your parents. HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!! Love, Mommy and Daddy.

I have linked a LONG montage I have created in honor of this special day. I am going to order it so please understand why it is so long:) ENJOY!

First Birthday Party! Thank You!

Today was Aubrey's first birthday party! We had it at our clubhouse. We had about 50 friends and family. It was a Winnie the Pooh themed party. It was a huge success and Aubrey had a great time! She didn't cry at all during her happy birthday song or cake eating. Actually she was so dainty while eating the cake! She would just put the tip of her finger in the frosting and lick it off. She had a great time opening all of her gifts! She liked standing next to the boxes of toys. We had blow up Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. They were a big hit. I bought a piƱata for the kids and Jeremy hung it and the kids loved it. All in all the day was wonderful! I couldn't have pulled it off without my AWESOME husband who helped me do so many things. It was a lot of work but so worth it. I also had to thank all of my wonderful family and friends who helped us get the party ready and bring things. We are so grateful for you! I think everyone had a great time. Here is a montage remembering the day! Enjoy.

A Little Calmer

A year ago today I was sitting in a cold hospital waiting room. I was waiting for my husband to come out of surgery. I was tenderly holding onto the life inside of me. Praying that she would stay put in her warm world for a little longer. Now as I am typing this I am tearing up with pure joy as I look at the little miracle that sits before me in the high chair talking up a storm and drinking out of her big girl cup. If she only knew the events that preceded her birth! I am so thankful to God today for this beautiful miracle he has given me. I cant believe that in one week she will have been on this earth for one year! Where has the time gone?? SOMEONE PLEASE STOP IT! Here are some pictures from her one year photo shoot this afternoon. Yes we did brave the terrible roads and it was SO WORTH IT! Look at that face! Stayed tuned for more birthday posts! This next week will forever be special in my heart!

Little Lamb

Wow it's already December 18th! I haven't posted in a while! As I read the blog entries from last year at this time I look at how calm things were. We were in serious waiting! Everything was done! We just wanted our little girl so bad. I cant help but get emotional. Now I feel like time moves way too fast and I don't have a second to breathe. It seems like there is so much to do with Christmas and a big first birthday coming up in 11 days!! I only have 2 days left of work and then I have fourteen days off! I hope to get in lots of blogging, and home organizing done. Here are some pictures from Aubrey's Christmas pageant at daycare. The infants were the lambs in the nativity scene. It was so cute!

11 Months!!!!

I can't believe how time has flown. I can;'t believe in one short month she will be 1 year old! She is so much fun. She is saying all kinds of words and has such a little personality. Here are the top ten things I love about her right now:

1. The incessant uttering of "MILO"
2. Wanting to carry her baby (rabbit) everywhere!
3. Saying that every food is "Hot"
4. Clenching her teeth and tightening everything up when she is frustrated.
5. Standing up all the time.
6. Bobbing up and down when she hears music
7. Throwing food off the highchair into Nelly's mouth and belly laughing about it.
8. Trying to say Nelly but coming out as "Nana"
9. Eating blueberries NON STOP!
10. Standing in the crib and staring at the video camera. I swear she knows where it is!

Dear Santa...

We took Aubrey to see Santa today. We went to Three Cedars Farm. They have a huge barn that they turn into the North Pole. Santa and Mrs. Claus were both there. They had so much for the kids to look at. Everything moved and sang. You should really skip the mall and go here! We loved it and would even go back again. The cost of a picture is 10.00 and it goes to a charity. Aubrey did so well sitting with Santa nad Mrs. Claus. She didnt cry at all. She did have a very serious look on her face though! We had a wonderful time. She is even saying Santa.

So Thankful!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a great time with our family! We had both sets of parents over. Aubrey had so much fun but didn't eat much! She has been quite picky lately. All she wants is blueberries! I hope this phase passes because it is quite frustrating. We have so much to be thankful for! We are blessed beyond words! It was so nice to have so much time off! I can't wait until Christmas break. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year...

Yes that's right. The holidays are right before us and I can't help but get emotional and sentimental. After all last year at this time we were gearing up to embark on the most wonderful journey of all and we were anticipating meeting the most wonderful peanut of all! I thought nothing could top last years holiday season with all of the anticipation, waiting, and actually delivering on New Years weekend. But I was wrong...this year has already proven to be just as special. The holiday season brings on new meaning when you have a little one. Just today we showed Aubrey the Christmas tree for the first time and she lit up! She was amazed... Oh the little things! She is on full cruise now crawling even more and standing at any chance she has. She has been pretty sick this week though. Last Sunday she got to actually got to interact with their first snowfall! Last year she was too itty bitty to realize it was snowing! She wasn't fond of the snow at first but after a little bit she LOVED it. She was grabbing snowflakes and eating it. Her favorite words these days are:
1. MILO
2. HOT
3. DADA

She babbles-talks a ton!! I can’t believe how verbal she is! Last night we took Aubrey to her daycare Thanksgiving feast. The daycare made a huge feast for all of the families. It was so nice! We have been having fun sitting around the warm Christmas tree singing and dancing as a family! I am looking forward to Aubrey's first Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.

Please Rise!

Today Aubrey learned how to pull herself to a standing position. I don't have any pics yet because my camera is dead but I do have pictures from her first haircut which was on October 9th at our house. Of course Grandma cut it! She was looking like Shaggy for awhile!

Happy Halloween!

Aubrey had a wonderful first Halloween. The festivities started on Thursday when we went to downtown Plymouth to Trick or Treat with my parents. On Friday Aubrey had a parade and party at daycare. She was so cute!! After the party we went to Grandma and Grandpa Wren's house for more trick or treating and pizza. Aubrey did great and loved being in the wagon with all her candy! The wrappers were the best part!

Catching Up

Sorry I havent posted in a long time. I have alot going on!! Aubrey is wonderful. She now has four teeth. We are gearing up for Halloween with lots of fun pumpkins and outfits. Her new word of the week is "HOT." Every time she sees food she says hot. I think Daddy freaked her out about touching hot food!! She has been extra cuddly lately and actually gives real kisses...well okay the kind with her mouth wide open, but anyways they melt our hearts! Tomorrow Aubrey will find out if she will have a new best friend or a new boyfriend:) Auntie Dominique and Uncle Paul (our good friends) find out what the gender of their babe is! Oh how I remember that day! Having a baby is life's greatest joy! I cant think of anything that makes me more happy! I think I'm getting ready for #2!! JUST KIDDING:)Actually this month is the first time I actually entertained the thought of another one! I am not quite ready yet...we are still enjoying the joys of Aubrey! Maybe by the time Aubrey is two?? Only time will tell. Have a great week! There are alot of pics! I just couldnt pick between those sweet smiles!
