The Best Exprience of My Life... Finally a Mommy!!

Now that the baby is 3 weeks I have had time to fully process my experience both the pregnancy and birth. Things get so busy and overwhelming after having a baby, but now I can't imagine life without Aubrey. So many moms have told me the feeling that having a baby brings but honestly I could never imagine the feeling of being a mom until I actually became one. It is such a fulfilling love.

Now on to the birth story... It was a cold Sunday morning and I decided to take Nelly for a walk. I was feeling really uncomfortable and I just felt ready to be done. We went on a 45 minute walk. When I got back I layed on the couch because the cramping was back. After an hour the cramping became more consistant and turned into contractions that came every 4-5 minutes. I had to breathe through them and a few even brought me to tears. So I told Jeremy and he encouraged me to get into the shower. So I did. I will never forget his reaction...he just knew. He started to clean and pick up the house frantically. He even packed his bags before I called the doc. The doc said to go in and that if I was dilated to 5 she would not send me home. By the way she was a doctor at another office. So about 3:00 we got into the car and got gas and a small bite to eat because I knew if they kept me that I couldn't eat. When we arrived at the hospital I was fully prepared to be sent home again. After all I was convinced that I couldn't have contractions. I had a cervix that was ready but no contractions. After the doc examined me she said that I was dilated to a seven and that I would be staying to have a baby. She even said we may have her by 9:00 that night!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!! Jeremy and I were so thrilled finally we could stay and have our baby!! So at 5:00 I got my room and received my epidural after which my contractions completely stopped:(( So they started pitocin. After that the contractions came back full force and I dilated to a 10 by 9:30. I didn't feel any contractions because of the wonderful epidural. Then 10:00 came and it was time to push. Let me tell you.. I wasn't prepared for the extremely hard work that pushing brings. HOLY CRAP... My contractions were every minute and half and I had to push 3 times per contraction in 10 second intervals. They even stopped the pitocin because the contractions were coming so quickly. Needless to say I pushed for 1 and a half LONG hours and by the end I was crying to Jeremy to please let it end! At 11:29 finally Aubrey made her amazing entrance into the world. Wow what a feeling when she came into this world. It was amazing. I always said I wanted a C section (DON'T AsK ME WHY). After this experience of delivering normally I wouldn't wish that ever again. The feeling of delivering her was amazing. Even though it was hard it was absolutely amazing. Worth all of the hard work. So there you have it.. Our birth story. It was a perfect beginning to a perfect life.
